CNC Splitting Spinning Machines

A splitting spinning machine is specialized metal-forming equipment that divides and forms the outer edge of a rotating metal blank using a pointed splitting roller and additional forming rollers.
During operation, the blank is securely clamped and rotated by the spindle. A carbide or hard-alloy splitting roller first separates and pre-forms the edge of the blank. Other spinning rollers then progressively shape the divided material into the required groove, rim or wheel profile.
Compared with manufacturing the component from several separately processed parts, split spinning can form complex circular sections from a single blank. This reduces additional joining procedures and helps maintain dimensional consistency during mass production.
Pre-splitting, groove forming and profile finishing can be completed without repeatedly repositioning the workpiece. This helps reduce cumulative positioning errors and improves product interchangeability.
Programmable roller paths, spindle speed and forming movements provide consistent processing conditions for repeated production. Stored programs can also simplify the manufacturing of recurring part specifications.
The machines use multi-station tooling to perform different forming steps in sequence. Splitting, expansion and finishing tools can be arranged according to the workpiece design.

The BXPKX50-III is suitable for relatively small-diameter components that require higher spindle speeds. The BXPKX500-III provides greater forming capacity for larger blanks and material thicknesses up to 16 mm.
Actual machine selection should not be based only on blank diameter. Buyers should also consider material grade, groove quantity, groove depth, final diameter, annual output and required automation level.
