Product Detail
The BXFBX1400 Vertical CNC Flange Spinning Machine is designed for forming precise flanges, beads and connection edges on cylindrical and conical metal components. Its fully servo-controlled forming system and three-station tooling configuration allow flanging, beading, punching and trimming operations to be completed on one machine.
A rotary hydraulic cylinder drives the three-jaw chuck to clamp cylindrical workpieces automatically. This clamping structure supports fast loading and unloading while maintaining stable workpiece positioning and concentric rotation during the forming process.
The machine can process cylindrical components with diameters from 300 to 1400 mm, heights from 250 to 800 mm and material thicknesses from 1.0 to 4.0 mm. It is suitable for manufacturing industrial fan housings, ventilation ducts, collector cones, pipe flanges and other circular sheet metal components.

A vertical CNC flange spinning machine forms a projecting edge around the opening of a cylindrical or conical metal component.
During operation, the workpiece is positioned vertically and clamped by a hydraulic chuck. The spindle rotates the component while CNC-controlled rollers progressively bend and shape its edge into the required flange profile.
Unlike conventional stamping processes that often require a dedicated die for each specification, CNC flange spinning offers greater flexibility for circular components with different diameters and edge designs. Product specifications can be changed by adjusting the clamping jaws, forming rollers and CNC program.
The machine can be configured to produce:
• Standard 90-degree flanges
• Customized-angle flanges
• Reinforced edge beads
• Mounting and connection edges
• Circular bolt-hole patterns
• Trimmed and calibrated flange profiles
The BXFBX1400 is suitable for manufacturing medium- and large-diameter rotationally symmetrical parts, including:
• Industrial fan housings
• Axial fan air drums
• Centrifugal fan components
• HVAC ventilation ducts
• Air handling system components
• Large collector cones
• Dust collection ducts
• Exhaust system components
• Cylindrical pipe sections
• Pipe connection flanges
Conical transition sections
Circular tank and vessel components
The equipment is commonly used by manufacturers of industrial fans, ventilation systems, environmental protection equipment, pipeline assemblies and custom sheet metal products.
The typical processing sequence includes the following steps:
• Load the cylindrical or conical workpiece vertically.
• Clamp the workpiece with the hydraulic three-jaw chuck.
• Confirm workpiece positioning and concentricity.
• Rotate the workpiece at the programmed spindle speed.
• Use the first tooling station for edge preforming.
• Form the required flange angle and width.
• Complete beading, punching or trimming when required.
• Finish and calibrate the flange profile.
• Release the hydraulic chuck and unload the finished component.
The CNC program controls roller movement and forming paths throughout the process. Progressive forming helps distribute material deformation over multiple controlled passes.
The BXFBX1400 uses a three-station tooling configuration that allows different forming tools to be installed simultaneously.
Depending on the workpiece requirements, the tooling stations can be configured for:
• Edge preforming
• Right-angle flanging
• Customized-angle flanging
• Edge beading
• Flange finishing
• CNC-indexed punching
• Edge trimming
• Profile calibration
Combining several operations on one machine reduces the need to transfer the workpiece between separate forming, punching and trimming equipment.
The exact tooling arrangement is designed according to the product drawing, material properties and required production process.
The forming rollers progressively bend the open edge of the workpiece into a specified flange width and angle. Standard right-angle flanges and customized angular profiles can be produced.
Beading creates a reinforced circular profile around the edge of the component. It can increase edge rigidity and provide a defined connection or sealing surface.
The machine can be configured to produce accurately spaced holes around the circular flange. Hole quantity, spacing and angular position are controlled through the CNC system.
Typical applications include:
• Bolt connection holes
• Fan housing mounting holes
• Ventilation duct connection holes
• Circular fastening patterns
• Pipe flange mounting holes
A trimming tool can remove excess material and help control the final flange height, edge shape and dimensional consistency.
The vertical layout is suitable for cylindrical and conical parts that can be conveniently positioned over the spindle chuck. It also provides operators with clear access to the workpiece opening and forming area.
The rotary hydraulic cylinder drives the three-jaw chuck to clamp the component automatically. This reduces manual tightening and helps maintain stable holding force during rotation.
Roller paths, forming positions and indexing movements are controlled through the CNC system. Approved programs can be stored and reused for repeat orders.
Flanging, beading, punching and trimming can be integrated into one production setup. This reduces repeated clamping and workpiece transfers.
The BXFBX1400 supports flange widths from 15 to 80 mm. Different angles and profiles can be produced by changing the tooling and CNC program.
CNC indexing allows mounting holes to be distributed evenly around the flange, supporting reliable assembly and component interchangeability.
One machine can process multiple component sizes within its capacity by changing the chuck jaws, fixtures, forming rollers and CNC programs.
The vertical CNC flange spinning machine can be configured for ductile sheet metals such as:
• Carbon steel
• Cold-rolled steel
• Stainless steel
• Galvanized steel
• Aluminum alloy
The allowable thickness varies according to material strength, elongation, hardness and flange geometry.
For example, high-strength stainless steel may require a smaller allowable thickness, a larger forming radius or additional forming passes compared with mild steel. Customers should provide the exact material grade for process evaluation.
The BXFBX1400 can produce standard 90-degree flanges as well as customized angular profiles.
The final flange design is affected by:
• Material grade
• Initial material thickness
• Required flange width
• Flange angle
• Edge radius
• Workpiece diameter
• Number of forming passes
• Dimensional tolerance
Boxiang designs the roller profile and forming program according to the customer’s finished product drawing.
The machine is generally suitable for components within the following basic range:
• Workpiece diameter: 300–1400 mm
• Workpiece height: 250–800 mm
• Material thickness: 1.0–4.0 mm
• Flange width: 15–80 mm
However, machine selection should not be based on dimensions alone. Buyers should also evaluate the material grade, flange shape, hole pattern, production volume and required automation level.
Please provide the following information for technical confirmation:
Finished product drawing
Workpiece diameter and height
Material grade and thickness
Required flange width
Flange angle and edge radius
Beading or trimming requirements
